01 · the buried-alert problem

Three channels' worth of events, dumped into one

A stock warning, a wholesale order and a retail refund landing in the same channel means the ones that matter sink under the ones that don't, and people stop reading.

02 · how it works

How we connect BigCommerce to Slack

Your store talks to Slack through a small, read-only connection that we build and test. You don't install a public app or learn a workflow tool.

Your BigCommerce orders, stock, refunds read-only access BoldBellows routes by channel de-duplicates every run Your Slack tagged by channel in your own workspace
  1. 01

    You give read-only access

A read-only BigCommerce API account and a Slack workspace connection. About ten minutes, with our step-by-step guide.

  2. 02

    The sync fetches and routes

Every thin BigCommerce webhook triggers a full API read, then the event routes to the right channel based on rules you set.

  3. 03

    Every rule gets tested

Before handover we fire real order types through the routing and confirm each one lands in the right channel, once.

03 · what reaches your channels

Every store event, shaped for the team that acts on it

Never a raw feed poured into one room. Each message carries only the fields that matter, and posts where that team already works.

Warehouse and fulfilment

"We reordered a week too late."

Low-stock cards in a warehouse channel mean a reorder goes out on time.

Finance and support

"We missed a refund for weeks."

Refunds and first-time buyers routed to the right team, never lost in the noise.

Multi-storefront owners

"Three channels, one messy feed."

Retail, wholesale and marketplace alerts kept apart from the first message.

A webhook ceiling most DIY builds hit

Every store, client and scope combination has its own webhook limit.

A single registration on our end routes everything internally, nowhere near that cap.

Thin webhook payloads

A DIY setup often posts a blank message because the webhook alone has no order details.

Every event fetches the full record before it posts.

Pricing

Build your BigCommerce to Slack price

Pick a package, answer four short questions about your channels and the events you care about, and your price and go-live date move as you choose.

Choose your packageRequired

The three packages differ by how many store events you alert on and how far the channel routing reaches.

Your core order alerts in one tidy channel, de-duplicated and never lost.

  • New order alerts posted to a single Slack channel
  • Short, readable messages carrying the order total and items
  • De-duplication, so a retried webhook never posts the same order twice
  • A scheduled re-check on real cron that catches any event a webhook missed
  • Your own read-only BigCommerce API account, never a shared public app
  • Premium handover notes (PDF) covering every rule and channel
  • Two rounds of changes once you see the first alerts arrive

Retail, wholesale and marketplace events, each routed to the channel that owns them.

  • Everything in the Signal package
  • Orders routed by storefront channel to their own Slack channels
  • Refunds and cancellations added, routed to a finance channel
  • Rules that read order status and value to decide where an event goes
  • A daily digest so quiet events roll up instead of pinging all day
  • Premium handover notes (PDF) covering the full routing map
  • Three rounds of changes once it is running

The full operations set, routed per team, instant and digest running together.

  • Everything in the Multi-Channel Router package
  • Low-stock, out-of-stock, failed payments and first-time customers
  • High-value order flags routed to a channel your team keeps open
  • Instant alerts for what needs action, a digest for the steady rest
  • Quiet-hours ready, so overnight events wait for the morning
  • Batching that stays under Slack's rate limits during a busy sale
  • Premium handover notes (PDF) covering every event, channel and rule
  • Four rounds of changes once it is running

Several BigCommerce stores, a warehouse or 3PL feed, an approval workflow, or a store event none of the packages above name. Tell us how your team lives in Slack and we will price it for your build.

How many Slack channels should alerts land in?Required

Each extra channel is another routing rule to write and test, so each team only reads what belongs to it.

Which store events should trigger an alert?Required

The more event types you switch on, the more of the BigCommerce API we read and shape into a message someone can act on.

Instant alerts, a digest, or both?Required

Instant suits events someone must act on; a digest keeps the quiet, high-volume events from turning into noise.

How soon do you need it live?Required

Standard follows the schedule your other choices set. Pay to move up the queue and go live sooner.

Optional extrasOptional

Each one begins switched off. Turn on what your store needs, watch the total, switch it back off.

06 · process & getting started

From your routing notes to live alerts in Slack

Six steps, most of them on our side. Your part is a short brief, about ten minutes of setup and a review at the end.

  1. Step 01

    Map your channels

Tell us which events each team cares about, and which Slack channel each one lives in.

  2. Step 02

    Read-only access

A read-only API account gets generated on your BigCommerce side, then our app gets added to the channels we'll post to. About ten minutes, with our guide.

  3. Step 03

    We build the routing

We set up the rules, the message layouts and the quiet-hours logic, then map every field to its message.

  4. Step 04

    We fire every event type

New order, refund, low stock and a failed charge are each fired against test data and watched into the right channel.

  5. Step 05

    You review

Watch real orders flow in for a few days. Two to four rounds of changes are included, depending on your package.

  6. Step 06

    Handover

You get a polished PDF covering every rule we set up, and posting continues entirely on its own from there.

Your handover notes Every rule and channel How the routing decides Editing a rule yourself If a message ever stops Plain English, no jargon PDF Premium handover notes A PDF to keep and share with your org Sync health Last run 09:41 · all OK Daily checks · alert if a message stops posting

What we need from you

  • Store admin access

Enough to create a read-only API account, or a staff account for us if you prefer.

  • Your Slack workspace

Rights to add our connection to the channels we post to.

  • Your routing map

A quick note on which team wants which events, in which channel.

  • Anything already set up

Already have some Slack automations? We keep them and add the rest.

07 · security and ownership

Read-only access. Your Slack. Your rules.

We can look, but we can't touch. The sync can read your store data, it can't change a single order, product or price.

read-only your workspace no card numbers named channels

Read-only by design

We cannot edit orders, products, prices or customers. The connection only reads.

Customer details optional

A card can carry a full name and email, initials only, or none of it at all, your call.

Named channels only

Messages post solely to the channels you point us at, visible to their members.

Remove access any time

Revoke the API account or remove our app and posting stops at once.

No copies kept

The sync reads an event, posts the message and moves on. Nothing is stored on our side.

No lock-in

The flows and the routing rules live in your own Slack, running indefinitely with nothing owed to us on a recurring basis.

09 · questions

BigCommerce to Slack questions, answered

The things operations leads ask us most before the first message posts. Anything else, ask when you request a quote.

Do you build the whole thing, or just link the two?

We build the whole workflow: the routing rules by channel and value, the message layouts, quiet hours and the digest, then test it on real orders. You end up with a running BigCommerce Slack automation, not a raw feed.

Since there's no official Slack connector, what makes this work?

An id and nothing more comes through on order and stock events; the order itself never rides along. Each one triggers a follow-up call to the REST API, which is why the message that posts is always accurate.

Can each channel get only the events it cares about?

Yes, that is the point. Rules route by event type, storefront channel or order value, so sales sees new orders, the warehouse sees stock, and finance sees refunds. Quiet, high-volume events roll into a digest.

Why not just set up a BigCommerce to Slack Zapier route ourselves?

You can, and for a single alert it is fine. It gets fragile fast: BigCommerce caps webhooks per scope, a single-event tool can't tell an edited order from a new one, and it bills per task as you grow. We build a de-duplicated, routed automation you pay for once.

We run Multi-Storefront. Can channels stay separate?

Yes. Every order carries its channel id, so retail, wholesale and marketplace events can each post to their own Slack channel, or stay combined with a channel tag if you'd rather.

Is our store data safe, and will this cost us every month?

The API account never gets more than read-only access, so an order can't be changed through it, and a card can show initials instead of a full name if you'd rather. Nothing gets copied to our end, every flow lives in your own Slack, and it's a single build fee with no subscription behind it.

Can a message wait for someone to approve it first?

As an extra, a refund or a large order can pause for an approve or reject action in Slack, so a human stays in the loop for the calls that matter.

Does an API change on either end break the sync?

The sync health log flags a failed run the same day. The optional 90-day aftercare has us fix anything an API change breaks, at no extra cost.
