Your data, handled with care.
What we collect, why we collect it, who sees it, how long we keep it and how to take control. Written in plain English first, with the legal detail underneath.
The short version.
Four things worth knowing before you read the detail. Each clause below also starts with its own one-line summary.
BoldBellows is a trading name of Sunglasses Cent LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. We are the controller of the personal data described here.
Contact and quote details, project files you send, chat messages and basic technical data. Card numbers go to our payment providers, never to us.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context advertising, or train AI models on client data.
Access, correct, delete, export or object, wherever you live. Use the contact form and choose ‘Privacy or data request’.
What we promise about your data.

We never sell it

Your messages, files and project data are never used to train artificial intelligence models.
We delete on schedule
General enquiries after 24 months, project files 90 days after handover, security logs after 12 months.
You can ask
Access, correct, export or delete your data through the contact form. We answer within 30 days.
We say when it goes wrong
If your data is affected by a breach, we tell you, and the regulator where the law requires it.
Who we are and what this covers
This policy explains how BoldBellows handles personal data collected through this website, our forms, live chat and the services we deliver.
BoldBellows is a trading name of Sunglasses Cent LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“BoldBellows”, “we”, “us”). We build and maintain business automations for clients around the world. This policy applies to visitors to boldbellows.com, people who contact us or request a quote, and clients who order services.
When we process personal data inside a client’s own systems while delivering a project, we usually act as a processor for that client. Our commitments in that role are set out in the data processing agreement. This policy covers the data we handle for our own purposes.
Use the contact form and choose the topic ‘Privacy or data request’. We do not publish an email address or phone number, to protect everyone from spam.
What we collect
Details you give us, files you send, payment status from our payment providers (Stripe and PayPal), chat messages and basic technical information needed to run and protect the site.
| Category | What it includes | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Contact and enquiry details | Name, email address, topic, platform, budget range, message and any file you attach on the contact form. | To read and answer your message. |
| Quote request details | Everything on the five-step quote form: company, role, country, time zone, tools, volume, data types, timeline, budget, access readiness and notes. | To prepare an accurate quote and plan delivery. |
| Project files and information | Briefs, exports, screenshots, field mappings and similar material you send through the upload page or by email. | To design, build and test your automation. |
| Order and payment records | Order reference, amount, currency, date, payment status and the last four digits of a card when our payment provider shares them. We never see or store full card numbers. | To fulfill orders, keep tax and accounting records and handle disputes. |
| Customer dashboard | Your login details for the dashboard, and the platform logins, API keys and project information you choose to enter there. | To give us the access and information needed to deliver your order. |
| Live chat messages | The messages you type in chat and the details you choose to share there. | To answer questions in real time. |
| Technical data | IP address (stored in the forms log only as a one-way hash), browser type, pages viewed, time and referrer, security and error logs. | To keep the site working, prevent abuse and understand which pages help. |
We do not accept passwords, API keys or card numbers through any form, message or email. Login details and keys go only through your secure customer dashboard at boldbellows.com/customer-dashboard. See security and access practices.
How we use personal data
To reply to you, quote, deliver work, take payment, protect the site, meet legal duties and improve the pages. Not for advertising profiles.
- Respond to messages, questions and requests, including reply emails.
- Quote and deliver the work you ask for, including planning access and testing.
- Take payment and keep records through our payment providers (Stripe and PayPal) and our accounting tools.
- Protect the site and forms from spam, abuse and attacks, using honeypot fields, timing checks, rate limits and signed tokens.
- Improve our pages and guides using aggregate, non-advertising analytics.
- Meet legal obligations, such as tax records and responding to lawful requests.
We do not use personal data to build advertising profiles, we do not sell it, and we do not use client data or project files to train artificial intelligence models.
Legal bases for processing
If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, we rely on contract, legitimate interests, legal obligation and, where required, your consent.
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR and UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Answering enquiries and preparing quotes | Steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in running a business |
| Delivering ordered services | Performance of a contract |
| Payments, tax and accounting | Performance of a contract and legal obligation |
| Site security and spam prevention | Legitimate interests in protecting our systems and visitors |
| Aggregate analytics | Legitimate interests in understanding and improving the site, or consent where local law requires it |
| Optional service updates, if you ask for them | Consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
International transfers
We serve clients worldwide and our providers operate in several countries. Where the law requires safeguards, we use them.
Our company is based in the United States and our clients are located worldwide, so personal data may be processed in the United States and in other countries where our providers operate. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK or Switzerland to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on approved safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK addendum, and on our providers’ own transfer mechanisms.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it. General messages and chat are kept for 24 months; order records for about seven years; project files for 90 days after handover.
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Contact and quote form submissions | 24 months, then deleted automatically (the forms plugin purges entries after 730 days) |
| Live chat transcripts | 24 months |
| Credentials entered in the customer dashboard | Kept only while your project is active and removed, with our access, at handover |
| Order and payment records | About seven years, to meet tax and accounting duties |
| Project files and working copies | Deleted 90 days after handover unless you ask us to remove them sooner |
| Security and server logs | 12 months |
| Files sent through the upload page | Up to 15 MB in total: emailed to the project team and removed from the web server at once. Larger uploads: held privately for 30 days, then deleted |
We may keep limited information for longer when needed to resolve a dispute, enforce an agreement or meet a legal obligation.
Security
Encryption in transit, least-privilege access, bot defenses on forms and a documented incident process. No system is perfectly secure, and we say so.
We protect personal data with encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it, layered protections on our forms, deletion schedules and an incident-response process. Details are on the security and access practices page. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify affected people and regulators where the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete, export or limit your data, or object to how we use it. We answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete your data, unless we must keep it by law;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent you have given;
- not be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To make a request, use the contact form and choose ‘Privacy or data request’. We may ask for details that let us confirm it is you, and we answer within 30 days (45 days where California law allows an extension). If you use an authorized agent, tell us in the request. We will not charge a fee unless a request is clearly excessive.
US state privacy notices
We do not sell or share personal information for advertising. Residents of California and other US states keep the same rights described above.
In the past 12 months we have not sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. We collect the categories listed in section 2, for the business purposes in section 3. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out request, although there is nothing to opt out of in practice. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah and other states with similar laws can use the rights in section 9.
Children
This site is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Our services and website are directed to businesses and working professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, tell us through the contact form and we will delete it.
Cookies and similar technologies
No advertising cookies. See the cookie policy for the details.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. What the site and its chat widget store in your browser is described in the cookie policy.
Automated decisions
No decision about you is made by a machine alone. Spam filters look at technical signals, not at who you are.
We do not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you by automated means alone. Our forms use automated checks, such as hidden fields, timing, rate limits and token validation, only to block automated abuse. A person reviews every genuine message.
Changes to this policy
If we change it in a meaningful way, we update this page and, for material changes, tell you.
We may update this policy as our services, providers or the law change. The current version is always the one on this page. If a change materially affects how we use personal data you have already given us, we will take reasonable steps to tell you.
Contact and complaints
Ask us first and we will try to fix it. You can always go to your data protection authority.
For any privacy question, use the contact form and choose ‘Privacy or data request’. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority, such as the Information Commissioner’s Office in the United Kingdom or your national data protection authority in the European Economic Area.
Common questions about this policy.
13 short answers to what people ask most. If yours is missing, ask it and a person replies within 24 hours.
Do you sell my personal data?
No. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use it to reply to you, to quote and deliver your work and to run and protect the site. The privacy policy lists each purpose.
Do you store my card details?
No. Payments are processed by our payment providers, Stripe and PayPal, on their hosted pages. We receive a payment status, an amount and sometimes the last four digits of the card. Card numbers never pass through our website.
Will you use my files to train AI?
No. We do not use client data, files or messages to train artificial intelligence models. Your materials are used only to deliver your order and are deleted on the schedule in the privacy policy.
How do I ask you to delete my data?
Use the contact form, choose ‘Privacy or data request’ and say what you want removed. We confirm your identity by replying to the email address you used and answer within 30 days, usually much sooner. Some records must be kept for legal reasons, and we tell you which.
Why is there no email address to write to?
To keep everyone safe from spam and scraping. Published addresses are harvested by bots, which buries real messages. The contact form routes every message to a person and keeps a record, and replies come to your inbox.
How long do you keep form submissions?
24 months, after which they are deleted automatically. Files attached to submissions are removed sooner: small ones as soon as they are emailed, larger ones after 30 days. You can ask us to delete yours earlier through the contact form.
Do you use my data for marketing?
We use your contact details to reply to you. We do not add you to a marketing list unless you ask to be on one. If you ask for updates, you can unsubscribe at any time and we stop.
Who is the data controller?
BoldBellows, a trading name of Sunglasses Cent LLC, for the data described in the policy. For data inside a client’s systems, the client is the controller and we are the processor, acting only on the client’s instructions under our data processing agreement.
Do you transfer data outside the EU or UK?
Our company is based in the United States and our providers operate in several countries. We use approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where the law requires them. If you need to know where a specific provider processes data, ask through the contact form.
How do I complain?
Tell us first through the contact form and we will try to put it right. You may also complain to your data protection authority, and we will cooperate. Using the form first usually gets the quickest result.
Do you collect data from children?
No. The site is for businesses, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
What is the IP hash?
A one-way scramble of your IP address, stored for spam protection and rate limiting. It cannot be turned back into the address. It lets us tell whether many forms come from one source without knowing who you are.
Do you use tracking pixels?
No advertising pixels. The cookie policy lists what the site does store and why. Payment providers and the chat service may use their own technical items under their own policies.
Other policies and guides.
Our policies are written to work together. These are the ones most often read alongside this page.
