Pay simply and securely.
Everything about money: how and when you pay, what currency, how taxes and receipts work, and what happens if a payment fails.
The short version.
Four things worth knowing before you read the detail. Each clause below also starts with its own one-line summary.
Pay by major credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. Payments are processed securely by our payment providers, and we never see or store your full card number.
Fixed-price services are paid in full before work starts. Larger custom projects are paid as a deposit now and a balance after delivery, as set out in the quote.
Prices are in USD. Your bank or payment provider may show a converted amount depending on your card.
You receive a receipt by email, and an invoice on request.

Prices and currency
Fixed prices, in US dollars, shown before you pay.
Prices on service pages and in quotes are in US dollars and exclude taxes unless stated. An accepted order keeps its price even if our prices change later. Catalog packages range from $250 to $7,120; see every package and price on the pricing page. Custom projects are priced in a written quote.
How you pay
Securely, by card, wallet or PayPal.
We take payment through secure hosted checkouts run by our payment providers, currently Stripe and PayPal. The methods available depend on your country and the provider, and typically include major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover), Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and other local methods where they are offered. Card details are entered on the provider’s secure pages. We do not receive or store your full card number.
When payment is due
In full before work starts.
Fixed-price services are paid in full at checkout, and work starts after payment is received and the other conditions in delivery and turnaround are met. Custom quotes may divide the price into milestones, which are listed in the quote with the event that triggers each one. Work on the next milestone starts after the previous milestone is paid.
Deposits on larger projects
Custom projects over $3,000 are paid in two steps: a deposit now, the balance after delivery.
For larger custom quotes and invoices the price is split in two. A project over $3,000 needs a deposit of 65% before work starts, and a project over $5,000 needs a deposit of 50%. The rest is the balance, and it falls due when your project is delivered. You can always choose to pay the full amount up front instead. The checkout shows both amounts before you pay, and you confirm the schedule with a tick box.
The deposit invoice and the balance invoice are separate documents with their own receipts. The delivery clock starts when the work can start, after your deposit and your questionnaire, as described in delivery and turnaround.
The balance and the automatic charge
After delivery we email you a pay link. Seven days after delivery an unpaid balance is charged to the card you used for the deposit.
When you pay a deposit, you agree that the card or bank account you use can be saved and charged for the balance. Your questionnaire repeats these payment terms, and you confirm them before work starts. When your project is delivered we email you the balance and a pay link. If it is still unpaid 7 days after delivery, we charge it automatically to the payment method you used for the deposit. We email you a reminder 3 days before, so there is time to pay another way, change the card or tell us if something is wrong.
If a charge fails we email you a pay link and try again, up to two more times, two days apart. After the third attempt we stop charging automatically and contact you. You can pay the balance yourself at any time, and you can ask us to move the date. If a deposit is refunded in full under the refund policy, the balance is cancelled and never charged.
Care plans
Monthly plans renew on the day you start. Stop any time; the plan ends when the paid month ends.
Care plans are monthly subscriptions billed by Stripe. You are charged on the day you start and then on the same day every month, at the price shown when you sign up. You can stop a plan at any time from your plan page and it ends when the paid month ends, with no further payments. A change to another plan starts on your next billing day, so you never pay twice.
If a monthly payment fails we retry it automatically and email you to update your card. A month that has already started is not refunded when you stop, and billing errors are always corrected in full.
Taxes
Taxes are added where the law requires, and shown before you pay.
Where sales tax, VAT, GST or a similar tax applies, it is added at checkout or stated in the quote. If you are a business with a valid tax registration number that entitles you to a reverse charge or exemption, tell us before you pay so we can handle it correctly. You are responsible for any withholding or import taxes that apply in your country.
Receipts and invoices
Receipt by email, formal invoice on request.
You receive a receipt by email after payment. If you need an invoice with your company’s legal name, address or tax number, send the details through the contact form under ‘Billing, invoice or payment’ and we issue it.
Failed or declined payments
Nothing starts until payment goes through.
If a payment fails, the order does not start. Try another method or ask your bank to approve the charge. If a payment fails on a milestone, work on that milestone pauses until it is resolved, and the delivery clock pauses with it.
Refunds, errors and disputes
Full refund before work starts. Billing errors always corrected. Please talk to us before a chargeback.
Refunds are governed by the refund policy: a full refund before work starts and none afterwards. Billing errors are corrected in full at any time. Please contact us before starting a dispute with your bank.
Late or unpaid amounts
If a milestone isn’t paid, we pause.
If a milestone invoice is not paid by its due date, we may pause work until it is. We do not charge interest, and we will always tell you before pausing.
Common questions about this policy.
12 short answers to what people ask most. If yours is missing, ask it and a person replies within 24 hours.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover), Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal, plus other local methods where they are available in your country. The exact list appears at checkout and depends on your location and the provider. If you would like to pay another way, ask us through the contact form.
Do I pay in my own currency?
Prices are in US dollars. Your card issuer, wallet or payment provider may show a converted amount at its own exchange rate, and that rate and any foreign-transaction fee are outside our control. The amount we invoice and receive is the dollar price you accepted.
Can I pay by invoice or bank transfer?
Ask us through the contact form. For larger custom projects we can often arrange an alternative that our payment providers support, such as a bank debit. Fixed-price services are normally paid at checkout by card, wallet or PayPal, which also starts the project immediately.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
Custom projects over $3,000 need a 65% deposit, and projects over $5,000 need a 50% deposit. The rest is due when your project is delivered. You can choose to pay in full instead.
When is the balance charged automatically?
Only if it is still unpaid 7 days after delivery. We email you a reminder 3 days before, and you can pay earlier, change the card or ask for more time.
Will I get an invoice for my accountant?
Yes. A receipt is emailed to you at payment and kept in your dashboard, and we issue a formal invoice on request with your company’s legal name, address and tax number. Ask under ‘Billing, invoice or payment’ in your dashboard or the contact form and include the details to print.
Do you accept PayPal or bank transfer?
Yes to PayPal, alongside major cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. For bank transfer on larger custom projects, ask through the contact form and we will confirm what is possible. The methods shown at checkout are the ones available for your location.
Will I be charged again later?
Only if you buy an ongoing plan or approve a new quote. A fixed-price order is paid once, in full, before work starts. We never charge a card on file without your approval, and any ongoing plan is explained in writing before it begins.
Why was my payment declined?
Most often your bank blocked it as unusual, particularly for an international payment or a first purchase from a new merchant. Try another card or payment method, or ask your bank to approve the charge and try again. If it keeps failing, tell us through the contact form and we will help you find a method that works.
Do you charge sales tax or VAT?
Where the law requires it. Tax is calculated at checkout from your location and shown before you pay, so the total is clear in advance. If you have a valid tax number that changes the treatment, tell us before you pay so it is applied correctly.
Can I pay in euros or pounds?
Prices are in US dollars. Your card issuer or wallet converts at its own rate, so a euro or pound card is accepted but shows the converted amount. We do not offer separate euro or pound prices.
Do you store my card?
No. Our payment providers handle card details under their own security standards (PCI DSS), on their own hosted pages. We receive a payment status, an amount and sometimes the last four digits of the card, which are enough to identify a payment but not to use it.
