BoldBellowsVoiceflow voice agents for businesses whose phones are their front door

Voiceflow voice AI agent automation with callers recognized by number, answers from your knowledge base, calls forwarded with extensions and outbound calls only where consent exists

Outbound calling works with Twilio, Vonage and Telnyx numbers but not with a Voiceflow number, and answering-machine detection is an option on each request. BoldBellows records the caller's number, the dialed number and the environment that answered before the greeting, recognizes the caller by their number and forwards the call when a person should decide, then connects your number from the right provider, routes incoming calls to the published environment, uses the caller's number to look up who is calling, answers from the knowledge base, forwards the call with the extension and pauses that your provider's syntax needs, places outbound calls from your systems with the variables each call requires, and tests every change on a draft number before real callers reach it.

Chapter 01 the phone-tree problem

'Press 1 for sales' is how callers hang up

A phone tree makes callers work for an answer, and many hang up. A voice agent can talk naturally, but the details of the phone world are easy to miss. A returning caller is asked for their number, though the line already knows it. A transfer reaches the main switchboard and not the extension the caller needed, because the pause for the tone was wrong for the provider. An outbound reminder call is attempted from a number type that does not support it, and a call to an answering machine plays the full script to a beep. Changes go live without anyone having dialed the number.

Callers stopped hanging up on the menu.

From an operations director's call review

It made them work.

Before

  • Every Voiceflow update makes another call
  • Callers are routed through a menu
  • Transfers and outbound calls fail on small details

After

  • Callers are recognized and helped at once
  • Transfers, outbound calls and tests are set up for your provider

Chapter 02 How it works

How an incoming call becomes an answer, a transfer or a booked outcome

A change must qualify first; its call is then found by key and only the missing Voiceflow fields are written.

Receive and test

The Voiceflow notification is verified, logged with its account, resource and time, and tested against your written rule.

Recognize, answer, decide

The caller is recognized by number, the question is answered, and the agent decides whether to forward.

Forward, place, test

Calls are forwarded with the right extension, outbound calls are placed where supported, and changes are tested by phone.

What Voiceflow and the model each do, and what we add

  • Outbound needs the right number: Outbound calling works with Twilio, Vonage and Telnyx numbers but not with a Voiceflow number, and answering-machine detection is an option on each request.
  • Pauses differ by provider: A forwarded call's extension uses one pause code on Twilio, Telnyx and Voiceflow numbers and another on Vonage, so the route uses the code that matches your provider.
  • Repair rule: Before any retry the route reads phone line through the caller's number, the dialed number and the conversation, so a second request never doubles the first.

Chapter 04 Who this fits

For healthcare networks, then for those who answer and place phone calls with a Voiceflow voice agent: recognize returning callers, answer from your knowledge base, forward to a person with the right extension and place outbound calls only where consent exists

Callers want a person-like answer without a maze, and businesses want every call to end in the right place.

Caller

"Don't make me press buttons."

I just say what I need.

Receptionist

"Send me the right calls."

Forwards carry the extension.

Operations lead

"Outbound that works."

Supported numbers only.

Compliance lead

"Consent for outbound."

Calls are placed with consent.

Developer

"Test by phone."

A draft number takes the change.

Owner

"Don't lose calls."

The line is always answered.

A delayed notice turns up

Every Voiceflow event is compared with the state already stored, so a late one is logged and cannot undo a newer call.

An outbound call reaches an answering machine

Answering-machine detection recognizes it, the full script is not played, a short message is left or the call is retried later, and the outcome is recorded. The route turns the caller's number, the dialed number and the conversation into a search of phone line and sorts the reply into four cases: missing, matching, different or unclear.

Settle the caller's number, the dialed number and the conversation with the team first: every field choice and routing rule depends on that one decision.

Governed lifecycle set: Use this when several documented Voiceflow states must converge on one voice agent decision.

How should a Voiceflow record that already has an AI voice agent decision be recognized?Required

Ambiguity queue: Send zero-match and multi-match voice agent cases to a named reviewer instead of letting the model guess.

What should happen when an AI voice agent action can't be confirmed?Required

Managed repair case: Give every uncertain voice agent action an owner, a live-state comparison and an approved replay decision.

How soon do you need it live?Required

Chapter 06 The process

Six steps from a phone tree to a voice agent

For Voiceflow Voice AI Agent, six steps, each ending in a written output, lead from brief to a monitored launch.

  1. About 30 minutes

    Review the lines

We review your numbers, their providers, your call flows and who answers what.

  2. Access review

    Approve access

Voiceflow permissions are set to the minimum, the model service is confirmed and the approval chain is written down.

  3. Most of the project

    Agree the call rules

What the agent says, when it forwards, which extensions it uses and when it may call out are written out and approved first.

  4. Before you review

    Break it on a copy

Repeats, delays, missing values and withdrawn access are tried on a test copy of phone line before launch.

  5. Handover day

    Launch with notes

Launch happens at a checkpoint you approve, with written notes on each rule that is live, for this Voiceflow Voice AI Agent service.

  6. About 30 minutes

    Month-one review

Across the first thirty days the checkpoint log is read with you, retries and drift are watched, and live data decides what gets tuned, on the Voiceflow Voice AI Agent service.

Chapter 07 Turnaround

What to expect on timing

Your delivery range starts on the day Voiceflow and the model are both connected.

Basic

6 to 10 business days

Managed

10 to 16 business days

Governed

16 to 24 business days

Chapter 08 Getting started

Needed from you for the AI Voice Agent route

A user or token that can read the Voiceflow records the route needs

A Voiceflow workspace, a phone number from Twilio, Vonage, Telnyx or Voiceflow, and your knowledge and call routing plan

Authorized Voiceflow credentials for the objects and events in scope

A short written rule for which Voiceflow events should reach phone line

Someone on your side who decides exceptions and mapping questions

Automations already running in Voiceflow or phone line on the same data

Chapter 09 Trust

Only approved data moves, and nothing inside Voiceflow or phone line is altered

What the model may see from Voiceflow is agreed in writing, and what it may propose is agreed with the same care.

Read-only Voiceflow to AI workflow access: your data stays yoursA sealed envelope marked private and yours to open, with a read-only stamp.PrivateYOURS TO OPENREAD-ONLY

Outside the products

Voiceflow and phone line are used only through their documented endpoints, so no file, setting or script inside either one is altered.

Scoped, revocable access

Each credential is limited to its Voiceflow task, and you can switch any of them off whenever you wish.

Only the mapped fields move

A signed field map lists what may cross into phone line; every other Voiceflow value stays where it is.

When a write is in doubt

A reply that never came back is answered by reading phone line through the caller's number, the dialed number and the conversation, and the call found there decides the next move.

Minimal logging

Logs keep references and outcomes only, so there is no copy of your data to guard, on the Voiceflow Voice AI Agent service.

Full handover

In the Voiceflow Voice AI Agent service, you receive the map, the list of credentials and the repair notes, and keep all of them.

"A phone call is the most personal thing a business receives, so the agent should treat it that way."

Chapter 11 Questions

Phone agents on Voiceflow: what call teams ask

Straight answers to the questions buyers ask before committing, on the Voiceflow Voice AI Agent service.

Do I need to be there? No. You send one short brief. Then you review a finished result.Search any question
Do I need more than a model prompt on a Voiceflow trigger?

Need only callers helped quickly, or passed to the right person with the details already known? A zap handles it, but it cannot forward calls with extensions, place outbound calls on supported numbers or test changes by phone safely.

Which numbers can place outbound calls?

Twilio, Vonage and Telnyx numbers, not Voiceflow numbers.

How does the agent know the caller in the Voiceflow Voice AI Agent service?

By the number they dial from.

Can it forward to an extension?

Yes, with the pause codes your provider uses.

What about answering machines?

Detection can be turned on for each outbound request.

Can we test before going live?

Yes, on a draft number.

Do outbound calls need consent?

Yes. You are responsible for local rules, and we build in the checks.

Do you show us each Voiceflow field before it is used?

Included: a signed field map that separates reading, suggesting and writing for Voiceflow.

Is the AI route configurable per team in the Voiceflow Voice AI Agent service?

Yes. We design the branching with you, and the Voiceflow AI route follows it exactly, from $1,090.

What if the model provider changes its terms in the Voiceflow Voice AI Agent service?

Each dependency is named in the handover, and a change on one side halts just the Voiceflow records involved while you are told which. It is also the answer to custom voiceflow voice ai agent automation.
