Common questions about this policy.
9 short answers to what people ask most. If yours is missing, ask it and a person replies within 24 hours.
Can I quote your guides in an article?
Yes. Short extracts with a clear credit to BoldBellows and a link back to the original are welcome. Please do not copy a whole guide or present our diagrams as your own. If you would like to republish more, translate a guide or use it in a course, ask first through the contact form; we are often happy to say yes.
Who owns the automation you build for me?
You do, once your payment is complete. The configured automation and the materials we build specifically for you are yours to use, change and keep running. We keep ownership of our general methods, templates and know-how, which we may reuse for other clients without including your data. The licensing and usage page has the full detail.
How do I report copyright infringement?
Use the contact form, choose ‘Copyright or IP concern’ and include the details listed in the policy: what was copied, where it appears on our site, how to reach you and a statement that you are the owner or authorized to act for them. We acknowledge within 24 hours and review each notice promptly.
Can I use your diagrams in a presentation?
Ask first through the contact form, telling us where it will be shown and who the audience is. We are often happy to say yes with a visible credit to BoldBellows and a link. Please do not edit a diagram so that it looks like your own work or remove our name from it.
Can I link to your guides?
Yes, always, and you do not need to ask. Links help other people find the guides, and the addresses are kept stable on purpose. If we ever move or rename a guide, we leave a redirect so your link keeps working.
What counts as a short quote?
A few sentences, or a short paragraph, with a clear credit to BoldBellows and a link back to the page. The point is that your readers still need our page to see the full argument. If you want to use a whole section, a table or a diagram, ask first.
Who owns screenshots I send you?
You do. Screenshots, exports and documents you send remain yours, and we use them only to work on your order. They are handled like any other project file: kept in a private area, shared only with the people on your project and deleted 90 days after handover unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
How do I report a copied page?
Choose ‘Copyright or IP concern’ on the contact form and include the web addresses of both pages: ours and the one you believe copies it. Tell us what is the same, and if you are the owner of the original, say so. We review every report and tell you what we found and what we will do.
Do you use open-source software?
Where relevant, yes. Open-source components stay under their own licenses, and any that are part of what we deliver are listed in your handover document with their licenses so you know your obligations. We do not remove license notices, and we tell you if a component brings conditions that matter for how you use the automation.
