Friday on the calendar, Tuesday on the card
The event never followed the new due date.
Trello to Google Calendar automation for teams that plan their week on a calendar
Trello to Google Calendar automation puts due dates where people plan their days. Calendar events can carry a custom ID drawn from the characters a to v and 0 to 9, and private properties that stay with one calendar's copy. BoldBellows reads the payload for its action, its model and its webhook, acknowledges the request quickly so Trello's short retry window is never needed, then builds the event ID from the card ID, creates the event once, moves it when the due date moves and removes it when the card is completed or archived.
From $650, paid once. Sync Trello due dates to Google Calendar without duplicates.
01 · the double-booking problem
A card's due date moves three times in a week and the calendar entry made on Monday still says Friday. Someone deletes a finished card and its event stays behind. Wire it loosely instead and each date change creates another event, so the same deadline appears three times and guests get an email for each.
The event never followed the new due date.
Each date change created another event.
The event stayed after the card was done.
02 · how it works
Every step has a check before it, so a fault stops the run instead of spreading.
The Trello notice is validated, the underlying record is read, and only a qualifying card event moves on.
The signature is checked, the card ID is turned into an event ID, and the action is classed as create, move or clear.
The event is inserted or updated with the card ID in its private properties, guest notifications are set, and writes are spaced to the calendar's limits.
Replying 410 Gone removes the webhook, and so does revoking the token behind it, so the route never returns that code and records which token it relies on.
Google Calendar lets the caller choose an event ID of 5 to 1,024 characters using only the letters a to v and the digits 0 to 9, which is how the route makes a repeat refuse itself.
A calendar event ID built from the Trello card ID, plus the card ID in private properties is the route's way of asking Google Calendar whether the work is already done.

05 · compare your options
Each can create an event. Only one creates one event and keeps it in step.
| How it gets going | Trello's calendar Power-Up | A typical trigger-and-action zap | A BoldBellows card-keyed event route |
|---|---|---|---|
| What starts the work | The next person to look | Each delivery, repeats included | Rule-approved events, logged with the reason |
| How identity is decided | Guessed from context | A single field treated as the key | A calendar event ID built from the card ID |
| What reaches Google Calendar | A few fields, entered late | A copy without context | One event per card that moves and clears with it |
| After an uncertain result | Open both apps and compare | Runs again from the start | Matches on a calendar event ID built from the Trello card ID, plus the card ID in private properties, then repairs or holds |
Events that reach the route after a newer one are recognised by timestamp and routed for review instead of applied, on the Trello to Google Calendar route.
The event is deleted rather than left on the calendar, and the removal is logged against the card. Finding the event comes first: a calendar event ID built from the Trello card ID, plus the card ID in private properties is searched, the hit is compared, and only then is an action chosen.
Nothing is written to Google Calendar until a calendar event ID built from the Trello card ID, plus the card ID in private properties is defined and stored for each event.

06 · process & getting started
Each of the six steps has an output you can read, not just a status update.
We agree which boards and lists create events, which cards count as all-day, and what a done or archived card should do to its event.
Access to Trello and Google Calendar is set up with limited scope, and the fields that identify each record are chosen.
The calendar for each board, the event wording and the guest notification rule are written down and signed off.
Late deliveries, doubled events and partial failures are simulated in a test Google Calendar and the results reviewed with you, in the Trello to Google Calendar route.
After the final test we enable the route and give you notes that name every owner and repair path.
We go through the exception list and the checkpoint log with you and agree what, if anything, needs a change.
07 · turnaround
Timing starts on access, and faster options shorten it, in the Trello to Google Calendar route.
4 to 7 business days
7 to 11 business days
11 to 17 business days
08 · before we start
09 · security and ownership
Trello keeps its data, Google Calendar receives only the approved subset, and we keep nothing beyond identifiers and outcomes.
Both Trello and Google Calendar are used as their own documentation describes; no workaround reaches into their internals.
Least-privilege access is the default, and it is documented.
The route forwards what was agreed and ignores the rest, so Google Calendar never becomes a second copy of everything in Trello.
Nothing is created twice: a missing confirmation triggers a search of Google Calendar by a calendar event ID built from the Trello card ID, plus the card ID in private properties before any further write.
The audit trail is made of IDs and decisions, not personal data.
After handover you can maintain, change or retire the route on your own.

A zap can provide an event for every due date. It is not built to create the event once, move it when the date moves and remove it when the card is done. The work here is the judgment around the connector, not the connector itself.
Each card with a due date becomes one event on the calendar you choose, with a link back to the card, and the event moves if the date changes.
The event ID is built from the card ID, and Google Calendar refuses a second event with the same ID, so a repeat cannot create a duplicate.
The event is removed from the calendar, or marked done if you prefer, and the change is logged against the card.
No. Notifications are off unless you switch them on for a calendar, so date changes do not email anyone by default.
Yes. Dated cards from before launch are turned into events in small batches, each checked against its event ID first.
No. The route is one way, from Trello to the calendar, so dragging an event never changes a card.
We do it for every route. The Trello Google Calendar field mapping service gives you a document, not a promise, listing each field that will cross.
Yes. Each branch you need is documented, giving a custom Trello workflow for Google Calendar. We act as the Trello Google Calendar integration consultant on the project, from $650.
We write down what the route assumes. When an assumption stops being true, the route stops that step and says so, rather than improvising. Related searches this service covers include custom trello to google calendar automation.
