How each document gets generated
We approve the template contract, build the generator, then test short, long, empty, multi-item and regeneration cases before anything ships.
A few API realities
- Batches are all-or-nothing. If one request in a batch update is invalid, the whole batch fails instead of partially applying, so we validate before we submit.
- Documents aren't plain text. Tables, headers, footers and tabs all have their own structure, so a naive find-and-replace can break layout.
- Tabs can nest. A Google Doc can contain several tabs, including nested ones, which matters for larger multi-section templates.
