BoldBellowsValidated before it ships

Send Wix orders to ShipStation—and stop bad shipment data at the door

Shipping automation should not purchase faster mistakes. We check address, SKU, weight, package and duplicate status first, then apply the carrier rule and return tracking to the exact Wix order.

  • Failures enter reviewlabels never vanish silently

01The shipment-shell trap

Importing an order isn't the same as making it shippable

Missing weight, invalid addresses, bundles and repeated triggers can make automated labels more expensive than manual fulfillment. Sound familiar?

"Packers fix the address before they can print anything."

Whatever the Wix trigger contained lands in ShipStation as-is, so staff correct addresses and weights by hand.

"A kit ships as one item instead of five."

Bundles create wrong quantities when the components behind a single Wix SKU are never expanded for fulfillment.

"The same order shipped twice this week."

A retried Wix event without duplicate protection can trigger a second label for an order that already shipped.

Creating a shipment record is not the same as fulfilling an order correctly. What matters is whether the data behind the label is right before the label is bought.

Same Wix store, same ShipStation account. The difference is whether validation runs before rating, or a mistake gets printed onto a paid label.

Before

Order #S-48119 Weight: missing Address: unverified
  • Packers repair addresses and weights
  • Bundles create wrong quantities
  • Retried events can duplicate shipments

After

Order #S-48119 · 2 parcels UPS Ground · label bought ✓ Address verified ✓ Package calculated: 8.4 lb ○ Tracking sent to Wix
  • Invalid shipments stop before purchase
  • Package rules reflect the actual cart
  • Tracking closes the loop with Wix

02How it works

How a Wix order becomes a validated shipment

We document warehouses, SKUs, packages, carriers and exceptions, build the shipment controller, then exercise normal, invalid, bundle, split, canceled and voided shipments before anything goes live.

Rechecked whenever a rule changes STEP 1Model fulfillment Warehouses, SKUs,packages and carriers STEP 2Validate and rate Orders are keyed, checked and rated STEP 3Label purchased Under approvedcarrier and service rules STEP 4States tested Bundle, split andvoided cases run STEP 1Model fulfillment Warehouses and carriers STEP 2Validate and rate Orders keyed and checked STEP 3Label purchased Under approved rules STEP 4States tested Void cases run first Rechecked on any rule change
Nothing gets a label on hope. Every shipment passes address, package and duplicate checks before a carrier is ever charged.

ShipStation object quirks

  • Rates need complete package data. A rate request depends on ship-from, ship-to, weight and package dimensions together; incomplete Wix product data can't produce a reliable carrier comparison.
  • Labels can be bought, voided or returned. The same Labels API that purchases a shipping label can also void it or issue a return label when a case calls for one.
  • API access can depend on your plan. We confirm the account's current entitlement before promising an API-led build, since ShipStation's own subscription tier can gate access.

03Inside the fulfillment build

What each Wix order writes, and how a carrier gets chosen

Validated Order Import starts with one clean shipment record. Label & Tracking Loop adds rate rules and callbacks. Fulfillment Control System adds bundles, multi-warehouse routing and split shipments.

04Who it's for

Built for the teams who pack and ship, not just record

Growing retailers, multi-carrier merchants, bundle sellers and operations managers who need Wix orders to arrive shippable, not as a shell someone still has to fix.

Growing Wix retailer

"We copy every address into ShipStation." Validated order transfer removes re-entry.

Multi-carrier merchant

"Staff choose inconsistent services." Rate and service rules make the choice explainable.

Bundle seller

"Kits arrive as one SKU but ship as several items." Bundle mapping expands fulfillment correctly.

Operations manager

"Tracking exists in ShipStation but not Wix." The callback links shipment state to the order.

05Compare

Manual fulfillment vs a basic order sync vs BoldBellows

A basic order sync can get an order into ShipStation. Package calculation, rate logic, duplicate control, label state, split shipments and tracking callbacks are the part that takes real thought.

The split-warehouse trap

One Wix bundle needs to ship from two warehouses. The Control System splits components by origin and retains both shipment identities against the same order.

The late-cancellation trap

A label gets purchased and the order cancels minutes later. The label-state route requests an approved void and prevents a canceled shipment from being marked fulfilled.

Build your Wix to ShipStation price

Pick a package, answer three short questions about shipping decisions, package data and fulfillment callbacks, and your price and turnaround move as you choose.

Choose your packageRequired

The three packages differ by how much shipping decision-making and fulfillment control you get.

Paid, shippable Wix orders create controlled ShipStation orders or shipments.

  • One Wix store and one ShipStation account
  • Address and shippable-order validation
  • Up to 50 SKU/weight mappings
  • One warehouse and package rule
  • Wix/ShipStation cross-reference IDs
  • Test orders, handoff and 3 free revisions

Carrier and service rules create labels and return tracking to Wix.

  • Everything in Validated Order Import
  • Up to five carrier/service rules
  • Rate comparison or service selection
  • Label-purchase approval rule
  • Tracking and fulfillment callback to Wix
  • Cancellation, void and failed-label queue

Complex fulfillment handles bundles, warehouses, split shipments and volume safely.

  • Everything in Label & Tracking Loop
  • Up to three warehouses
  • Bundle and multi-package logic
  • Split-shipment and partial-fulfillment state
  • Historical/open-order migration up to 10,000 orders
  • Operations dashboard, audit trail and peak-load tests

3PL routing, dangerous goods, LTL, extensive international rules, more than three warehouses or very high shipment volume. Tell us the real scope and we will price it for your build.

How should the carrier and service be chosen?Required

Comparing rates against limits needs more setup than one fixed service.

How is package data determined?Required

Bundles and multi-package orders need more mapping than one default box.

Should fulfillment state return to Wix?Required

Split shipments need more callback logic than a single tracking number.

How soon do you need it live?Required

Standard follows the schedule your other choices set. Pay to move up the queue and go live sooner.

Optional extrasOptional

Each one begins switched off. Turn on what your fulfillment needs, watch the total, switch it back off.

06The process

Five stages, fulfillment audit through launch

Validated Order Import takes about 4 to 7 working days, Label & Tracking Loop about 8 to 12, and Fulfillment Control System about 12 to 18. Choosing a speed tier compresses whichever of those windows applies.

Your handover notes Every carrier rule, documented Package logic, explained Who reviews held shipments What happens on a late cancellation Plain English, no jargon Build summary Test set: 30 orders run Orders validated 28 Labels purchased 26 Duplicate shipments 0 Ready for handoff
  1. Fulfillment audit

We review catalog, warehouses, packages, carriers and current exceptions.

  2. Rule map

Shippable status, service, package and callback behavior are approved.

  3. Build

Order, shipment, rate, label and tracking routes are implemented.

  4. Carrier QA

Domestic, international, invalid, split and void cases are tested.

  5. Launch

Monitoring, failure ownership and peak procedures are handed over.

A short intake call covers the rest

  • Wix and ShipStation authorization.
  • SKU, weight, dimension, bundle and warehouse data.
  • Carrier accounts and representative orders, including cancellations.

07Security and ownership

Your carrier accounts stay yours. Nothing overreaches.

The integration needs approved Wix order access and ShipStation order/shipment permissions. Label purchasing and Wix writeback are enabled only when they're part of the agreed scope.

Server-side credentials

Keys and tokens stay in protected storage.

Purchase boundary

Labels are bought only under approved rules.

Address minimization

Shipping data is used only for fulfillment.

No card data

Payment-card details are never required.

Audit identity

Wix, shipment and label IDs remain linked.

Client ownership

Carrier accounts, ShipStation assets and workflows remain yours.

09FAQ

Wix to ShipStation questions, answered

Still unsure? We reply in plain English.

Can Wix orders sync to ShipStation automatically?

Yes. Eligible Wix orders can create ShipStation fulfillment records once required data and duplicate checks pass.

Can the integration buy labels for me?

Yes, in packages with approved carrier, service, package and purchase rules configured up front.

Wouldn't a plain order-sync Zap cover this?

It can import an order, sure. Package calculation, rate logic, duplicate control, label state, split shipments and tracking callbacks are the part a generic connector was never built for.

Can tracking update the Wix order?

Yes. The source order is matched before carrier and tracking details are returned to it.

Does BoldBellows bill a recurring fee for this?

No. You pay for the build once. ShipStation, carriers, Wix and any automation host you use keep billing you separately, exactly as before.

Does ShipStation API access require a certain plan?

It may. We confirm your account's current API entitlement before promising an API-led build.

What happens when a carrier changes its API?

ShipStation abstracts most carrier connections, but any affected rate or label behavior is retested, and further repair work is quoted separately. It is also the answer to sync wix orders to shipstation, wix shipstation integration and wix shipstation shipping automation.
