01The multi-channel export problem

Three storefronts, three exports, and a sheet that never quite agrees

BigCommerce is built to run retail, wholesale and marketplace channels from one catalog. Reporting on all three from one spreadsheet is where the exporting starts.

"Each channel exports its orders a different way."

Retail, wholesale and the marketplace feed each land as their own CSV, with slightly different columns to reconcile by hand.

"Our Zap only ever fetched the last few weeks."

A hand-rolled connector polling a public app scope quietly misses older orders, so a full-year report never quite adds up.

"A webhook fired, but the row came back empty."

BigCommerce webhooks only carry an id, not the order itself, so a naive setup writes a blank row until someone notices.

The real cost is not the export itself. It is a buying decision made on a wholesale number that never included the marketplace channel.

Same catalog, same channels. The difference is whether the sheet already knows which channel every row came from.

02How it works

How our BigCommerce Google Sheets integration works

The BigCommerce-to-Sheets sync breaks into four parts, each one built by us from the ground up. No code, no Zapier, no Apps Script editor for you.

Re-checks on a schedule STEP 1Your store Orders, customers, products and stock STEP 2The sync Fetches the full recordbehind every webhook STEP 3Your Google Sheet Channel tags, clean tabs,no duplicate rows STEP 4Reports Sales by channel, stock, refunds STEP 1Your store Orders, stock, customers STEP 2The sync Fetches the full record STEP 3Your sheet Channel tags, no doubles STEP 4Reports Sales, stock, payouts Re-checks on a schedule
The data travels a single direction, pulled from BigCommerce onto your sheet, with nothing ever pushed back into the store.

The mechanics, explained without the jargon

  • Thin webhooks, real reads. A BigCommerce webhook only ever carries a scope and a resource id, never the order itself. To connect bigcommerce to google sheets properly, every webhook triggers a follow-up read against the Orders API, so the row that lands is always the full, current record.
  • No rolling window. Unlike some platforms that cap order history at 60 days, a backfill here reaches back as far as the store's records go, not just a recent slice.
  • Your own quota. A first-party API account gets its own 30-second rate-limit window on your store, so it isn't competing for headroom with any public app you've also installed.

03What reaches your sheet

Every BigCommerce record, shaped into rows you can pivot on

Never a raw API dump. Each tab is written for the person reading it, carries only the columns that matter, and is tagged by channel wherever a Multi-Storefront setup makes that useful. Order Ledger covers the core sale; Channel Reporting adds customers and products; Warehouse Feed adds stock and shipments.

Orders tab Order Ledger

Your core bigcommerce sales data sheets tab: order number, status, totals, tax and shipping, written the moment an order settles.

Customers tab Channel Reporting

Every buyer's name, email, order count and lifetime spend, kept for bigcommerce customers data google sheets reporting.

Products tab Channel Reporting

Every SKU and variant, priced and categorised, so you can export bigcommerce products to spreadsheet without a manual pull.

Stock tab Warehouse Feed

Live bigcommerce inventory google sheets sync at the variant level, so a low line shows up before the shelf runs out.

Shipping tab Warehouse Feed

Shipments and tracking numbers for a bigcommerce shipping google sheets view, joined back to the order that raised them.

Refunds column Warehouse Feed

Full and partial refunds reconciled against the original row, so a return never quietly inflates a revenue total.

Archive tabs Extra

Older rows roll into dated tabs automatically, so the live view stays quick even after years of trading.

Summary dashboard Extra

Sales, refunds and stock totalled per channel on one tab, charted automatically as new rows land.

Split by channel on request, or kept in one combined view with a channel column. Either way, nothing gets mixed up.

04Who it helps

Built for BigCommerce sellers who report from a spreadsheet

Whether you run one storefront or a full Multi-Storefront setup across retail, wholesale and marketplaces, this puts every order, customer, product and stock level where your team already plans from.

Multi-storefront sellers

Retail, wholesale and marketplace channels report side by side, each tagged, so a channel column replaces three exports.

Operations and warehouse leads

Stock and shipment tabs mean a reorder goes out on time, not a week after a variant quietly ran dry.

Finance and reporting teams

Refunds reconcile against the order that raised them, so a monthly close never starts with a mismatched total.

Owners and founders

One trustworthy sheet to check sales, stock and refunds from, without a dashboard login for every storefront.

05The options

Exporting by hand, a Zapier patch, or a sheet built to order

Each way can get orders into a sheet. Where they pull apart is a second storefront channel, a year's worth of order history, or a stock report that must stay accurate daily.

Two API versions to reconcile

BigCommerce still splits Orders onto the V2 API while most other resources moved to V3, a detail a hand-rolled script easily gets wrong. We handle both correctly. If your team lives in Slack instead of a spreadsheet, our BigCommerce to Slack automation does the same reads and posts alerts instead of rows.

Ten webhooks per scope, not unlimited

BigCommerce caps webhooks per store, client and scope, so a DIY build that registers a fresh one for every workflow can hit that ceiling fast. We register once and route internally. For the accounting side, see our BigCommerce to QuickBooks automation.

Build your BigCommerce to Google Sheets price

Choose a package, answer four short questions about your data, your tabs and how often the sheet should refresh, and your price and go-live date move as you choose.

Choose your packageRequired

The three packages differ by how much of your BigCommerce catalog reaches the sheet and how the tabs are organised across your storefronts.

Every order lands in one clean sheet, deduplicated and always in stock-taking order.

  • Orders synced from your BigCommerce store into one Google Sheet
  • Order status, totals, tax and shipping broken into their own columns
  • De-duplication on order id, so a retried webhook never doubles a row
  • A scheduled re-check on real cron that catches anything a webhook missed
  • Your own read-only BigCommerce API account, never a shared public app
  • Premium handover notes (PDF) covering every column and refresh rule
  • Two rounds of changes once you see real orders land

Orders, customers and products together, split by storefront channel if you run more than one.

  • Everything in the Order Ledger package
  • Customer records and product catalog synced into their own tabs
  • A channel column (or a tab per channel) on a Multi-Storefront setup
  • Full order history pulled in from day one, not just the last few weeks
  • Archive tabs so older rows move aside and the live sheet stays quick
  • Premium handover notes (PDF) covering the full tab and channel map
  • Three rounds of changes once it is running

The full picture: stock levels, shipments and refunds joined to the orders that drove them.

  • Everything in the Channel Reporting package
  • Live stock and variant-level inventory levels on their own tab
  • Shipments and tracking numbers joined back to their order rows
  • Refunds and partial refunds reconciled against the original order
  • A summary dashboard tab totalling sales, refunds and stock by channel
  • Batched, rate-limit-safe pulls that never choke on a busy sale day
  • Premium handover notes (PDF) covering every tab, join and refresh rule
  • Four rounds of changes once it is running

Several BigCommerce stores feeding one workbook, a B2B Edition price list export, or a report shape none of the packages above name. Tell us what the sheet needs to show and we will price it for your build.

Which BigCommerce data should reach the sheet?Required

The more resources you switch on, the more of the V2/V3 API surface we read and shape into rows.

How should the sheet be organised?Required

A Multi-Storefront setup can report everything together or keep each channel on its own tab.

How often should the sheet refresh?Required

BigCommerce webhooks arrive thin, so every refresh calls back into the API for the full record before it writes a row.

How soon do you need it live?Required

Standard follows the schedule your other choices set. Pay to move up the queue and go live sooner.

Optional extrasOptional

Each one begins switched off. Turn on what your store needs, watch the total, switch it back off.

06The process

From your channel list to a live sheet, in six steps

Order Ledger runs about 6 to 9 working days, Channel Reporting about 9 to 13, and Warehouse Feed about 13 to 18. Need it sooner? Pick a faster slot while you build your price below.

  1. Map your data

In writing, tell us which resources matter, which storefront channels you run, and how the tabs should be organised.

  2. You give access

You create a read-only API account under Store Setup, and share the Google account the sheet should live in. Written steps with screenshots come with it.

  3. We build it

We build the sync, the tabs, the channel tags and the de-duplication logic, then map every BigCommerce field to its column.

  4. We test every path

We fire a new order, a refund, a stock change and a shipment through test data and confirm each lands on the correct tab.

  5. You check real orders

Genuine orders flow into the sheet for a few days while you watch. We tune columns and formatting over two, three or four rounds, depending on your package.

  6. Handover

Your handover arrives as a premium PDF covering every tab, column and channel tag. From there the sheet keeps itself current as orders come in.

Two pieces of access and a short brief — that's your whole side

  • BigCommerce API account. Generated in Store Setup, scoped read-only to Orders, Products and Customers only, or a Store Owner login works too if you'd rather set it up together.
  • Your Google account. Access to the account the sheet should live in, so ownership sits with you from the very first row.
  • Your channel list, or a quick note on which storefronts you run and how you'd like the tabs split.

07Security and ownership

We only read your store, and the sheet is yours from day one

Order and customer data deserve care. We ask for the narrowest access the job needs, and everything we build sits in your own Google account and your own BigCommerce API account.

Read-only API account

The BigCommerce scopes we request are read-only on Orders, Products and Customers. Editing a price, an order or your catalog is simply outside what the account can do.

Customer data, your call

Full names and emails, initials only, or left off entirely: you decide what a column shows before the first row is written.

Not a shared public app

Your API account is created on your store alone, with its own rate-limit quota, never sharing headroom with a marketplace app.

Nothing kept on our side

The sync reads a record, writes the row and moves on. We hold no copy of your orders or your catalog on our own servers.

Every read logged

Each pull is timestamped in the sync health log, so a mismatch is traceable to a specific run rather than a guess.

Yours to keep, no monthly fee

The sheet, the sync rules and the column mapping all live in your accounts. Revoke the API account any time and the sheet stays exactly as it is.

09FAQ

BigCommerce to Google Sheets questions people actually ask

What owners and operations leads want to know before their first row lands. Anything missing, add it to your quote request.

Do you build the whole sync, or just connect the two?

We build the whole thing. Connecting the API account is the small part. We design the tabs, write the channel-tagging logic, the de-duplication rules and the refresh schedule, then test it against real orders before handover. You end up with a running bigcommerce google sheets automation, not a raw API dump.

Can you bring in orders from before we started this project?

Yes. Unlike some platforms, BigCommerce places no rolling-window limit on its Orders API, so a backfill can start from the day your store opened, brought in through batches that keep your API quota intact. You choose how far back the sheet should go.

We run Multi-Storefront. Can the sheet tell our channels apart?

Yes, that's exactly what the Channel Reporting and Warehouse Feed packages are built for. Every order carries its channel id, so you get a channel column on one combined sheet, or a tab per storefront if that's easier for your team to read.

Why did our old Zapier setup miss some orders?

Two common causes. A BigCommerce webhook only carries a resource id, not the order itself, so a setup that doesn't call back into the API for the full record writes a blank or missing row. And a public app's OAuth scope can be scoped to recent activity rather than your full history. We fetch the full record every time and read back as far as you want.

Can't I just wire BigCommerce to Google Sheets with Zapier myself?

You can, and it's fine for a single storefront with light volume. It gets expensive and fragile once you add a second channel: each event burns a task, BigCommerce's own webhook cap limits how many separate triggers you can register, and thin webhook payloads need extra steps most zaps skip. We build a de-duplicated, channel-aware sync you pay for once. If your team also wants alerts, see our BigCommerce to Slack automation.

Does this work with BigCommerce's B2B Edition?

Yes, as an extra. Company account orders and B2B Edition price lists can be exported alongside standard retail orders, tagged so a wholesale row is never confused with a retail one.

What happens if BigCommerce or Google Sheets changes their API?

A failed run gets flagged in the sync health log that same day, and if you add the aftercare package, any breakage from an API change is ours to fix, free, for a full 90 days past handover.

Is there a monthly fee once it's running?

No. You pay once to build it. The sheet lives in your Google account, the API account lives on your BigCommerce store, and nothing here rents you a subscription to keep working.

Next stepOne sheet, every channel

Ready to connect BigCommerce to Google Sheets the right way?

Configure your price in moments, or, for several stores, a B2B price list, or a report shape none of the packages above cover, just tell us and we'll quote it.
