01The manual-import problem

A board full of names, but no columns worth trusting

Most BigCommerce sellers on monday.com paste orders in from a spreadsheet export. The status column never updates itself, and nothing automates until someone remembers to build the recipe.

"Every item is pasted in from a CSV."

An export from BigCommerce gets copied into the board once a day, so anything that happens in between is invisible.

"The status column never updates itself."

Someone has to manually click a status pill for every order, so half the board shows yesterday's picture.

"None of our automations trigger off anything real."

monday.com's recipes are only as good as the data feeding them, and a manual import gives them nothing to fire on.

The real cost is not the missing item. It is a board that looks organised but tells you what happened yesterday, not right now.

Same BigCommerce store, same monday.com workspace. What changes is whether the board actually keeps itself current.

02How it works

How our BigCommerce monday.com integration works

Four parts, built entirely on our end, make up the BigCommerce-to-monday.com sync. Nothing here requires you to write code or open a workflow builder.

STEP 1Your store Orders, refunds, stock levels STEP 2The sync Shapes items, columnsand status values STEP 3Your monday.com Boards, columns andautomations, kept live STEP 4Your team Works a board thatreflects real orders
The flow runs one direction only, out of BigCommerce onto your board, with nothing ever routed back into the store.

A closer look at how the pieces fit

  • Thin webhooks, real reads. An id is all a BigCommerce webhook ever passes along. The sync goes back to the API for that record's full detail before an item ever writes or moves.
  • No rolling window. Order history on BigCommerce isn't capped at 60 days, which means a backfill can pull in everything your store has ever recorded.
  • Real status values, not text. Orders map to your board's actual status column labels and colours, so monday.com's own automation recipes can trigger on them.

03What syncs into monday.com

Every item built to trigger your automations, not just sit there

Never a raw order dump. Each item carries the columns your workflow needs, and lands in the group that fits. Board Sync covers items; Automated Workflow adds movement and subitems; Dashboard Operations adds full recipes and live widgets.

Board SyncAutomated WorkflowDashboard Operations

Board items Board Sync

Status, totals and channel land on the item, keyed to order id so nothing doubles up.

People & timeline Automated Workflow

Assignee and a shipping-window timeline bar, filled in on every item.

Subitems Automated Workflow

One subitem per line item, ready to check off while picking.

Connected boards Dashboard Operations

Items connect to a customers board, with a formula column rolling up spend.

Automation recipes Dashboard Operations

Groups move, people get assigned and notifications fire, all on their own.

Live dashboard widgets Dashboard Operations

Orders, revenue and refunds summarised by channel, updating as items change.

Every event type has a defined destination on your board, checked against real data before handover.

04Who it helps

Built for BigCommerce sellers who run operations from monday.com

However you split direct and wholesale sales, your team gets a board where every item stays live and every automation fires off something real.

Operations managers

A board that answers "what's stuck" at a glance, without a manual status update.

Wholesale and B2B teams

Company account orders kept in their own board, price list terms noted on the item.

Warehouse and fulfilment leads

Subitems per line item and a timeline bar your team can plan a shift around.

Founders and owners

A live dashboard widget to check revenue and status from, across every channel.

05The options

Manual export, Zapier, or a board built for you

Each way can get orders onto a board. What separates them is a second storefront channel, a monday.com automation recipe, or a dashboard people genuinely depend on.

No native BigCommerce connector

The two platforms simply don't talk to each other out of the box, leaving a Zapier workaround or manual CSV exports as the fallback. We build a proper connection that actually holds up. Spreadsheet reporting on your list too? Take a look at our BigCommerce to Google Sheets automation.

Real status values are the hard part

A flat text field is as far as most generic connectors go, which leaves a status column useless as a trigger for any monday.com recipe. Mapping it properly is the piece we actually build. Chasing a pipeline too? See our BigCommerce to HubSpot automation.

Choose your packageRequired

The three packages differ by how many columns your board carries and how much automation runs on top.

Every order lands as a board item, kept current and never duplicated.

  • A monday.com item created for every new order
  • Status, total, channel and items as their own columns
  • De-duplication on order id, so a retried webhook never doubles an item
  • A scheduled re-check on real cron that catches anything a webhook missed
  • Your own read-only BigCommerce API account, never a shared public app
  • Premium handover notes (PDF) covering every column and sync rule
  • Two rounds of changes once you see real items land

Items move across groups automatically as an order's status changes.

  • Everything in the Board Sync package
  • A group per fulfilment stage, with items moving as status changes
  • People and timeline columns filled in from your fulfilment rules
  • Subitems for line items, one row per product on the order
  • A colour status column tuned to your workflow labels
  • Premium handover notes (PDF) covering the full board structure
  • Three rounds of changes once it is running

monday.com automations and a live dashboard, layered onto a full operations board.

  • Everything in the Automated Workflow package
  • Refund and cancellation items linked back to the original order item
  • A low-stock item opened automatically in a board your team watches
  • A dedicated board or group for B2B Edition wholesale orders
  • monday.com automation recipes built for you, matched to your workflow
  • A live dashboard widget summarising orders, revenue and refunds by channel
  • Multiple BigCommerce stores feeding one workspace if needed
  • Premium handover notes (PDF) covering every board, column and automation
  • Four rounds of changes once it is running

Several BigCommerce stores feeding one workspace, connected boards across departments, or automation recipes beyond what the packages above name. Tell us how your team works and we will price it for your build.

Which BigCommerce events should create an item?Required

The more events you switch on, the more of the V2/V3 API surface we read and turn into items.

How much detail should each item carry?Required

Deeper column sets take longer to map but give your board more to work from.

How much should monday.com automate on its own?Required

BigCommerce webhooks arrive thin, so every automation calls back into the API for the full record before it writes anything.

How soon do you need it live?Required

Standard follows the schedule your other choices set. Pay to move up the queue and go live sooner.

Optional extrasOptional

Each one begins switched off. Turn on what your board needs, watch the total, switch it back off.

06The process

Six stages between your board layout and live items

Board Sync ships in 6 to 9 working days, Automated Workflow in 9 to 13, Dashboard Operations in 13 to 17. A faster lane is available below in the price builder.

Your handover notes Every column and automation How each recipe decides Editing a column yourself If a sync ever stops Plain English, no jargon PDF Premium handover notes A PDF to keep and share with your team Sync health Last run 09:00 · all OK Daily checks · alert if an item stops syncing
  1. Draw out the board first

Groups, columns, and which channels need their own lane: a written sketch before a single column gets built.

  2. A credential, then a connection

Your scoped BigCommerce key pairs with a monday.com connection, set up together while we walk through each screen.

  3. Columns, groups and recipes take shape

Every order field gets mapped as the automation recipes come together behind them.

  4. We push on it before you do

An order, a status flip, a refund: each one runs through test data first and gets traced into the right group.

  5. Real orders, under your watch

The board runs live for several days while you check it, and however many revision rounds your package includes go toward tuning columns and recipes.

  6. A guide, then we step away

A PDF documents every column, group and automation. The board carries on keeping itself current after that.

A credential, a board and a sketch — that's the whole ask

  • A credential limited to read access, created in Store Setup and covering only Orders, Customers and Products.
  • Admin rights on monday.com, enough to connect the API and talk through the board layout with you.
  • A sketch of your board, covering groups, columns and how automations ought to behave.

07Security and ownership

Access scoped tight enough to only ever read

Your order and customer records aren't something to take chances with. We request exactly what the sync needs, and it all lands inside your own monday.com workspace.

Reading is all it can do

Changing a price, editing a product, altering an order: none of it is within reach of this credential.

Pick your own level of detail

An item can show a full name, just an initial, or nothing personal at all, entirely at your discretion.

Set up on your store, nowhere else

It isn't shared with other merchants. It's created just for your account, carrying its own quota.

We pass it along, we don't keep it

A record gets read, written to monday.com, then it's gone from our side. Nothing is archived here.

A timestamp on every run

If something ever looks off, the sync health log points straight back to which run caused it.

Owned outright, no rent involved

Boards, columns and automation rules all belong to your workspace, and revoking the credential is entirely your call, on your schedule.

09FAQ

The questions that come up before the first board goes live

A working list built from real client conversations. Anything not covered here is worth folding into your quote request.

How much of this is you designing versus just wiring an API?

The wiring is a small fraction of it. Designing columns that hold up, groups that make sense, and automation recipes that actually fire correctly, then proving all of it against real orders, is where the real effort goes.

Will our existing monday.com automation recipes fire from this data?

They will. Orders map onto real status column values rather than plain text, so a group move, an assignment or a notification recipe triggers exactly as it would from someone manually changing a status.

Are we stuck only capturing orders from launch day forward?

Not at all. The Orders API doesn't impose a lookback limit, so a backfill reaching clear back to opening day is entirely possible, pulled in through batches sized to respect your API quota.

Our old Zapier route kept leaving the status column blank. Why?

A BigCommerce webhook is just a resource id, never the order itself. Skip the follow-up API call and a status column can end up empty or wrong. Every run here fetches the full record before writing anything.

We're on Multi-Storefront. Does monday.com know which channel an order came from?

Yes, since the channel id rides along with every order. Tag items, filter by view, or keep entirely separate boards per storefront, whichever fits how your team actually works.

Is there somewhere for our B2B Edition price lists to live?

There's a named extra for it. Company account orders sync into their own dedicated board, with price list terms noted right on the item.

What if BigCommerce or monday.com pushes a breaking API change?

You'd see it flagged in the sync health log within the day. Add the aftercare package, and whatever broke gets patched for 90 days after handover, no additional invoice.

Once this is running, is there a recurring bill?

Just the one-time build fee. Your monday.com workspace holds the board, your own BigCommerce store holds the credential, and neither one owes us a subscription.

Next stepA board that keeps itself current

Turn your orders into a board that actually stays current

Configure your price in moments, or, for several stores, a connected-board setup, or a workflow that falls outside the three packages, just tell us and we'll quote it. Either way, you own a BigCommerce monday.com integration built to grow with you.
